Our Philosophy
Our central philosophical belief at HPC stems from the Recreational Music Making (RMM) model — group lessons as the cornerstone of our classes with an emphasis on music-making being an enjoyable experience rather than an apprehensive endeavor.
Though RMM is the backbone of the program, we use it in combination with serious study of technique and theory, with the intent of encouraging further exploration and greater concentration. We believe that a well-rounded child benefits from the positive effects of peer interaction, play, and healthy competition (as well as one-on-one instruction for fine-tuning individual concerns).

The art of teaching: creating an environment in which a student wants nothing more than to learn, and having the right materials for the situation.
