AMISTAD Chamber Players was formed to increase the understanding and appreciation of Classical Latin American Music in the United States. Since their first performance in 1982, AMISTAD has exposed audiences to more than 800 compositions from Latin America. AMISTAD means friendship, and friendship is a major ingredient that thrives this endeavor hoping to establish and nurture lines of communication between Latin and North America musicians, specially.
